This Question Time woman voted Brexit because of a straight banana
This woman told BBC1’s Question Time she was going to vote remain, but changed her mind at the last minute after she saw a straight bananas in a supermarket.

Yes, referendums ARE totally bananas.
In a crowded field, the banana woman might just have won the "stupidest member of the Question Time audience ever" award #bbcqt

So a banana was the reason my children's futures have been destroyed. People wonder why we think leave voters are thick. #bbcqt #brexit

It’s one of the great Euromyths that the EU banned bent bananas. True, they had a preference for straight ones, but they never banned them.
It’s what we now call an “alternative fact” but it just goes to show if the Daily Mail repeats something enough, it becomes true.
"I was going to vote Remain but I saw a straight banana."
Britain's about to pull up the drawbridge with the nutters still inside. #bbcqt

"I changed from remain to leave because I went to the supermarket and saw a straight banana."
How could refs ever be a bad idea?#bbcqt

That woman on #bbcqt who changed from Remain to Leave because she apparently saw a straight banana in Aldi. This is what we’re dealing with.
— James Moran (@jamesmoran) February 2, 2017
Anyway, it turns out the joke was on her. Apparently she was shopping in Aldi. British-owned? Er…
Did she really just say she voted Leave because she saw a straight banana in a supermarket? And then admitted it was Aldi (German) #bbcqt
