East Sussex welcomes its newest gritter: Salty McSaltface
It’s the joke that refuses to die – last year Transport for Buckinghamshire asked the public to name their new gritter and people – clearly still smarting from not getting their way with naming a boat – went for Salty McSaltface, who has now hit the roads…
Salty McSaltface joins a fleet of gritters that include “The Mighty Thaw”, “Lambourgritti” and “Optimis Grit”. Not sure why the second ‘s” is lower case though…
Last year Oldham council also asked the public to vote on a name for a new gritter – sadly it wasn’t to be Gary Gritter or Gritney Houston – they opted for Nicole Saltslinger – in homage to the X-Factor judge. At least the good people of Oldham had the sense to not choose anything with “mc” or “face” in it.
Hopefully now this joke may now be laid to rest forever, in the Gravey McGravyeardface.
