Idris Elba in talks to be the next Prime Minister

Elba, who is currently filming both the new James Bond film and the next series of Doctor Who, could take over by tonight if his agent agrees to the terms of his contract.

“The results of EU referendum may have divided the country,” said one government spokesman. “But there’s one thing that we can probably all agree on – that Idris Elba is really fucking cool.”

“From his previous work we know that Elba is a perfect fit for the job of PM – who of us could not fail to be roused by his speeches in Pacific Rim, or marvel at his skills in running a criminal empire in The Wire, or the gravitas he displays when sitting in his car in Luther.”

“It also helps that he’s a skilled DJ,” added the spokesman. “The garden parties in Downing Street are going to be off the hook.”
