A tawny owl from Harry Potter has joined the fight to leave the European Union

In a bid to widen support for Britain to leave the EU, the owl has teamed up with Boris Johnson on a whistle stop tour of the UK. The owl described Johnson as a ‘natural leader’ and having ‘the perfect hair for storing half eaten rodents in’.

“These days most people would rather listen to a celebrity owl rather than a politician – and although my species can be found across Europe and Asia I consider myself a Briton at heart,” said the owl while appearing at a shopping centre in Cardiff.

“Relatively few voters have made up their minds about whether to vote ‘Leave’ or ‘Remain,’ so I hope to use my huge influence to help them decide,” said the owl.

“I also plan to regurgitate pellets of fur and bones over anyone who thinks we should stay in the EU. I’m also pretty handy with my claws for those diehard fans of the Remain campaign.”
