Politics News: After announcing his plans to stand as an MP in 2015, the British public have urged Boris Johnson to represent the comet currently 405 million kilometres from Earth.

“Dirty balls of ice need representation in Westminster as well,” said political pundit Owen Verdwalen.

“And the electorate of Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko should be easy to win over for the Mayor.”

“Plus he’ll be able to confidently claim a second home allowance when living on the comet, especially when it hurtles away into deep space in 2015.”

Experts also claim that the comet’s public transport system is virtually non-existent, and that Johnson could use his experience as London Mayor in bringing a ‘coherent transport strategy’ to the barren lump of ice, dust and small rocky particles.

“Yes, yes – deep space. This all sounds like an excellent idea,” said David Cameron as he idly poked some fish in a Portuguese market.
