Modern Conversation scoops popular vote at Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival

A comedy sketch about two women obsessed with social media has picked up the People’s Choice award in a new initiative ‘Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival Comedy Shorts Competition’ which aims to uncover Britain’s best new digital funnies.

Festival organisers teamed up with The Poke to encourage UK comedy talent to submit original films to be screened at the Leicester event and across both the festival’s and Dave’s social media channels.

Ben Garfield, (24) and comedy act Mixed Doubles from London, creators of the winning entry won £2,500.

Geoff Rowe, CEO of Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival, comments: “We’ve been making people laugh for 20 years, ever since the festival began in 1994. It’s great that we were able to extend the laughs into cyber space with this brand new competition.”

The Poke would also like to proffer a hat tip to these promising submissions too…
