Lord Coe to be made Dame for Olympic success

Coe News: Lord Coe’s achievements as architect of London’s Olympic Games are set to be officially recognised later this year when the 55-year-old is made a Dame in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.

The honorific title, typically only bestowed on women, is the latest in a long line of plaudits for Baron Coe whose distinguished career also includes two Olympic Gold medals, a life peerage an OBE, MBE, KBE and an NVQ in food hygiene.

“I am absolutely delighted and honoured with this new title for my collection,” Lady Coe told The Poke.

“After a lifetime of success I am constantly looking for new ways to celebrate my achievements and accepting the title of Dame is exactly within the Olympic ideals of inclusivity and gender ambiguity.”

“It has been a brilliant summer with loads of GB medals and zero dirty bombs.”

“I am now going to take some time off to recharge my batteries and weigh up my options.”

“It’s either going to be Strictly, Panto or teaming up with G4S and the armed forces to overthrow the government and insert myself as head of state.”
