Sarkozy to start burger chain if he loses election

A leaked memo suggests French President Nicolas Sarkozy has already lined up a number of possible jobs for after he loses the election this weekend, including opening his own chain of hamburger stores.

It’s thought Sarkozy has already outlined the business plan of the Peu Hamburger (“Little Burger”) franchise. “Like Nicolas, the burgers will be small, well-dressed but ultimately leave you feeling deeply unsatisfied,” said one insider. “And of course, rich middle-class customers get 30% off.”

He plans to have his wife, Carla Bruni, appear in advertising as ‘Madame Peu Hamburger’ and also detailed how the ex-head of the IMF, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, could take care of the financial aspects of the business.

Other possible post-Presidential jobs Sarkozy is considering include holiday cover for Syrian President Bashar Hafez al-Assad – who is reportedly feeling ‘stressed out’ and ‘really run down’ after ordering the deaths of thousands of his citizens.
