New 4G means users will get bored of Facebook quicker

Tech News: Social network site Facebook has warned that when the UK gets the new super-fast 4G network later this year, users will get super-bored of it even more quickly.

The industry says 4G will allow mobile internet to run at the same speed as domestic broadband, meaning commuters on buses and trains will have almost instant access to Facebook – only to become bored of the rubbish their friends post just seconds later.

“It’s a real worry,” said Facebook UK spokesman Rupert Ortolan-Towel. “A big part of the user experience of Facebook on a mobile phone is waiting for the damn thing to load, but with 4G this will be almost instant. What will people do with all this extra time – read a book?”

“And what about parties or awkward social situations when you can appear busy staring at your phone, waiting for Facebook to load – those days will be over, and you might have to talk to someone you barely know.”
