Thanks to all of you who sent in your nominations for The Pokes, the first ever awards celebrating the best of UK web comedy.

We received over a thousand nominations, and after a heated argument The Poke’s editorial and technical team have eventually emerged with the various shortlists.

It’s the funniest stuff out there, so please check out the videos, podcasts, tweets, photoshops and cartoons – then get voting!

Funniest video nominees include Misery Bear, BBC Comedy, Swede Mason, Alex Ross and Simon Balch.

Contenders for funniest viral are Vic and Bob, Fosters Funny, Alan Partridge, Saatchi and Saatchi, T Mobile, Wieden + Kennedy, Cravendale and Bill Bailey.

In the funniest cartoonist or photoshopper category we have Smallbrainfield, ninj, Al Murphy, Dagsson and Modern Toss.

Robin Ince, Josie Long, Danny Wallace, Ricky Gervais, Steve Merchant, Karl Pilkington, Knock2bag, Do The Right Thing, Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish are shortlisted for Funniest Podcast.

Meanwhile the funniest citizen tweeters shortlist includes @DrPeterThraft, @MooseAllain, @madeupstats, @sixthformpoet, Gareth Aveyard and  @Betfairpoker.

Celebrity tweeters vying for a gong are Simon Evans, Milton Jones, Danny Baker, @ThisisPartridge, Grace Dent and Caitlin Moran.

 

Winners will be announced on Friday 16th December.
