It’s amazing how much entertainment can be wrung from a dead cockroach

Most workplaces can be dull at times, so anything even a tiny bit out of the ordinary will probably be leapt on and gossiped about to try and stop the hours from dragging by. In one case, however, they might have gone a tad too far in trying to eke out the entertainment value of a minor unusual occurrence – the discovery of a cockroach corpse in a stairwell.

When Redditor, TheDisneyDad spotted the deceased insect at work, he decided – as you do – to embellish the death scene with some paper additions, creating a backstory that any cockroach would envy.

This is how he began his anecdote.

“Each night, when I leave the office via a seldom used fire stairwell, I would pass a lonely dead cockroach half way down. Every now and then over the last month, I have livened his day (and mine) with a series of dioramas made from post-it notes.”

He also kept a meticulous photo-record of the results.

For some reason, he imagined the cockroach was celebrating its birthday, and kindly made it a cake – a paper cake, of course. No need to be unhygienic.

He added a gift.

He imagined that the cockroach might have drunk too much at the party and vomited.

His alcohol abuse led to a medical emergency and the paramedics had to be summoned.

Alas …he died, and the circumstances were sufficiently suspicious for the police to become involved.

Of course, there had to be a funeral.
