People are comparing Danny Baker’s sacking by the BBC with its treatment of Nigel Farage
As you can’t possibly fail to have seen by now, Danny Baker has been sacked by the BBC after he was accused of posting a racist tweet about the birth of the royal baby.
And it really did appear to divide opinion, between people like this …
What? Danny Baker got fired? But he immediately apologised and deleted the tweet! I mean, literally, in the event of mistakenly causing offence, what else can you do? Genuinely amazed by that.

… and people like this.
The Danny Baker "unthinking" excuse is not an excuse at all – if you do, say or post something so obviously racist and claim it's "unthinking", then, well, you're a racist

And there were lots and lots of people drawing comparisons between the BBC’s treatment of Baker and the line-up on BBC1’s Question Time tonight.
"We have fired this person for doing a racist thing, but don't forget to tune into question time tonight where Nigel Farage will be talking to Nigel Farage about how Nigel Farage is Nigel Farage"

Hi I'm Fiona Bruce. Tune in to the death of irony tonight when the question "should a person be taken off air for racist comments" will be answered by Nigel fucking Farage on his 33rd appearance on Question Time.

Wow, if the BBC are that harsh on @prodnose imagine how hard they'd come down on someone like Nigel Farage.

Danny Baker fired by the BBC for a racist tweet. Nigel Farage – an actual, full scale, openly racist scumbag – is on the BBC every day. He may not be employed by them, but he certainly makes a living from the BBC. Fun times.

Silly Danny. If only he'd done a racist tweet that wasn't about the royals, he'd probably have just been invited on Newsnight and Question Time to promote his political thoughts instead. https://t.co/OQ2SNbT1BL

I trust now that the BBC has sacked Danny Baker they also wont give any time to massive racists like Tommy Robinson and Nigel Farage pic.twitter.com/zRsT9vdVLT

Fair enough that the BBC sacked Danny Baker but why are they still giving airtime to scum like Alan Sugar + Nigel Farage?! pic.twitter.com/xlrLkmtDoJ

Hi, @BBC I won't comment on the dismissal of Danny Baker but I draw your attention to Nigel Farage proudly standing in front of his overtly racist 'Breaking Point' poster. He's on @bbcquestiontime tonight. Please explain why he still appears on your network.
