Mike Pence waiting for people to applaud is the most entertaining silence we’ve ever heard
Here’s so-called US vice president Mike Pence giving a speech on the Iran nuclear deal in Poland and the fortunate thing you don’t really have to pay attention to what he’s saying.
All you have to do is wait for the moment he stops speaking and waits for the applause to break out. What happens next is just beautiful.
OMG — Pence was visibly shook in Poland when he received absolutely no reaction to what was clearly supposed to be an applause line about how “the time has come for our European partners to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.” pic.twitter.com/biRxARZkcM

It’s that one embarrassed clap – he really should have said ‘thanks dad’ – that makes it.
And here’s what people made of it online.
Watched this three times. Still not old. https://t.co/UpZzBw13am

Nothing like a rousing round of silence … 😁😁😁😁

If you watch carefully you can see Pence’s small head-shake realization that no applause is coming for this or any other line in his speech. https://t.co/nzIqozStpb

-hold for applause
-hold for fusion of continents into new supercontinent
-hold for death of all eukaryotic life
-hold for evaporation of all water
-hold for supernova of sun
-hold for recontraction of universe via big crunch https://t.co/htgowSLYMj— Dave Itzkoff (@ditzkoff) February 16, 2019
Oh go on then, one more time.
