The Sun socked it to the Irish PM today and yet its Irish edition had something very different to say
Never let it be said the Sun is anything less than two-faced.
Here’s the British edition of the paper telling it like it is over the Irish PM’s Brexit flightpath plans.
Yeah, too right! You tell ’em, my Sun!
Except, er, in the paper’s Irish edition …
As pointed out by @GreensladeR on Twitter.
Spot the cynicism! Today’s @TheSun in England: Irish prime minister Leo Varadkar is a bigmouth and a fool. His outburst exposes his crass naivety and the cynical deceit of his EU masters. Yesterday’s Sun in Ireland: Leo talks tough. He made “it clear we aren’t going to roll over” pic.twitter.com/XTfDpl3y2I

At least they have learned from the mistake they made last time where the took a uk editorial and published it in both. This is just as dumb in our connected world though.

So what do you think would happen if they were covering a rugby match between Ireland and England? Would you expect the Irish Sun to rejoice in an Irish defeat? You know, for consistency’s sake.

Sport is important but not as important as #Brexit
