Microsoft announce that MS Paint has had a reprieve of execution – sort of
Yesterday the internet went nuts for the story that MS Paint was for the chop – it even was the number one story on the Guardian for a while leading to many tweets and hot takes largely due to nostalgia.
Anyway, to milk a bit more love out of the story @Microsoft today have announced, “MS Paint is here to stay, it will just have a new home soon, in the Windows Store where it will be available for free.”
Which, as we all know, if you put something as optional it’s a way of killing something slowly.
Default or death as we say in Microsoft Update-land. (We don’t, but it’s true.)
So c’mon Microsoft. If you really mean it, leave it a default app.
As being bumped off into an app store instead of being a default install is a type of death.
