Furious pink shirted man goes “full Basil Fawlty” and tries to put everyone under citizen’s arrest

A video of a furious man trying to arrest a family in a car park has gone viral – and while we’re not 100% on the specific law of performing a citizen’s arrest, we’re confident it doesn’t involve yelling “PUT YOUR HANDS ON THE CAR AND PREPARE TO DIE!”

Yes, that’s right, he threatened to put an 11-year-old boy under citizens arrest. Shouty-arrest man is allegedly Fergus Beeley, a producer who worked on David Attenborough’s Planet Earth series – naturally the internet took the piss.

Beeley apprently stopped trying to arrest everyone after the police turned up, and it’s reported that the family are fine, though a bit shaken.

Here’s a video of Beeley in happier times, playing the trumpet in his car (while wearing that same pink shirt?)

In the wake of the citizen’s arrest, it’s been picking up some choice comments…

UPDATE: Apparently in September he’s giving a talk on mindfulness. Talk about an extreme viral marketing campaign!
