French bus drivers wear skirts to protest heatwave shorts ban
Bus drivers in the French city of Nantes turned up for work in skirts yesterday in protest at a ban on wearing shorts despite the current searing heatwave across the country, reports The Telegraph.
“Our uniform is not appropriate for these high temperatures. We envy women at moments like this,” said Didier Sauvetre, a driver from the CFDT union.
Perhaps they took inspiration from Joey Barge, who was recently sent home from work for wearing shorts in 30 degrees heat – so he came back in a dress.
If women can wear skirts/dresses at work can I wear smart shorts like so? pic.twitter.com/UD0AQ6ZCbP
