This just happened on Countdown. Ooh er missus!
Every so often a combination of letters comes up that reminds people that Countdown is still on Channel 4.
Today was one of those days.

It was plain old “squirt” until Adam Henson in Dictionary Corner suggested another two letters could be added to make it an eight-letter score.
“Like water pistols,” suggested Susie Dent.
