The Merriam-Webster dictionary comes to Ivanka Trump’s rescue when she doesn’t know what ‘complicit’ means

The new ‘Assistant to the President’, Ivanka Trump, was recently interviewed by CBS news, when she was asked if she thought she was “complicit” in what is going on at the White House.

Luckily for her, Merriam-Webster was there to help. And guess what? It doesn’t mean being “a force for good”.

So “helping to commit a crime or do wrong in some way”, rather than “making a positive impact”. It’s not the first time they’ve helped improve Ivanka’s vocabulary.

Merriam-Webster also gained a few fans along the way.

Last month Saturday Night Live did this spoof ad for Ivanka’s new fragrance. “Complicit”.
