How to change the headlines on The Telegraph for quick social media lols

We’ve all seen amusing screen grabs doing the rounds on social media where someone has altered a headline for comic effect.

Here’s four such examples:

Obviously you can make these in Photoshop but it’s a lot of faff and we thought you might be interested in learning a quicker way to do it.

Are you ready?

1. Go to a Telegraph article. E.g.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/02/20/kiss-jean-claude-juncker-pictures/

2. Open javascript console

3. Paste this line into the console – changing the words to the headline you like:

$('h1.headline__heading').text("YOUR HEADLINE HERE")

4. Then screen grab your result

Anyway. That’s lesson one in why learning a tiny bit about websites work can produce endless amusement for idiots like us.
