It’s the ultimate f**k you. The man who paid his car tax entirely in pennies – 300,000 of them.

Nick Stafford settled his $3,000 sales tax bill with five wheelbarrows of coins weighing in at 750kg. That’s a lot of loose change.

The goateed avenger was mad as hell after being unable to get a direct dial for his local branch of the Department of Motor Vehicles in the US state of Virginia.

It ended up with him filing freedom of information of requests and even going to court in the long-running dispute.

Stafford said he wanted to “prove a point to the state of Virginia … if they are going to take time out of my day, I am going to extend the same courtesy to them”.

300,000 coins? They’re still counting.
