So some idiot decided to mansplain the effects of space to an astronaut: read the 6 funniest reactions
Twitter: home of the well thought-out pun, the topical gag and Vines of cats. Also the home of the dick pic, the pedant and the mansplainer. Even astronauts, providing they’re women, are not immune to the intervention of mansplainers.
Jessica Meir is Assistant Professor of Anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School, is a comparative physiologist, has a masters in Space Studies and is currently an astronaut, working with NASA, soooooo you’d think her science credentials would be pretty untouchable.
No, apparently; they’re not. Because when Professor Meir, as @Astro_Jessica, tweeted “My first venture >63,000′, the space equivalent zone, where water spontaneously boils! Luckily I’m suited!” one man, Casey O’Quin, decided to put her straight, replying “Wouldn’t say it’s spontaneous. The pressure in the room got below the vapor pressure of the water at room temp. Simple thermo”
Naturally, Twitter was delighted at this turn of events as they love a good mansplain to take the piss out of. So, here are six of the best reactions to his tweet.
Unleash the sarcasm!
1.
@CaseyOQuin ya who even let this chick in a space suit in the first place? Why listen to the female astronaut when there's a shirtless guy?

@CaseyOQuin @Astro_Jessica Oh, of course! She's obviously never heard of thermogoddammics, only being an astronaut. Dickface.

@CaseyOQuin @Astro_Jessica like… You know astronauts have to know science-y things right? You know they have to go to special astro school

But, as @NiklasAndrae points out, he did do us all a service in one way
@Astro_Jessica Thank you for personifying the term "Mansplaining" @CaseyOQuin.
