This letter brilliantly took the piss out of Keith Vaz for loving the limelight

The MP Keith Vaz may not be too keen on being the focus of attention these days, but there was a time when he couldn’t get enough of it, with publicity stunts such as being filmed doing the Gangnam Style dance or wearing a football scarf in the House of Commons.

So, when he briefly slipped below the radar, Martin Bradley sent this letter to the MP’s constituency’s paper, The Leicester Mercury.

Under the heading ‘Where was Vaz?’ he wrote:

“I noticed that in the Mercury on Thursday, October 31, there was no mention of Keith Vaz, nor were there any photographs of him.

I was wondering if this edition would have any value to a collector of rare objects.”
