I spent the best part of a Thursday afternoon trying to unblock this toilet.

Eventually we had to call the plumber in – at a cost of £65!!!!

If anyone has any information on the person who decided it would be a good idea to try and flush a whole roast chicken down the toilet, please contact Debbie in HR ASAP.

NOT impressed….

Yes. You read that right. Someone tried to flush a chicken down the office loo.

A. WHOLE. ROAST. CHICKEN.

And we have so many questions…

The reaction online has been intense. Food journalist Andrew Webb started a hashtag, “#chickenToiletGate” and stated, “we need to find out who did this!”

The current theories so far:

• Chris says, “There are lots of firms in the building, so I don’t know her [Debbie]. Maybe the culprit is someone with a serious digestion problem?”
• Twitter user StevO ‏suggests, “perhaps the poor person in question couldn’t digest the said chicken properly, imagine the pain.”
• Whereas Twitter fan Rob Manuel theorises, “imagining someone brought roast chicken for lunch, then hid in loo to eat coz no cutlery & then went fuck it. FLUSH.”

However, Emma Chambers speaks for us all when they say, “And I thought the toilets at my work were bad!”
