Lollipop man ordered to stop high-fiving kids

A lollipop man in Scotland has been banned by the local council from “high-fiving” children as they cross the road, reports the BBC.

Nkosana Mdikane, 74, is known as “Scotland’s happiest lollipop man” due to his singing and dancing at work.

Safety fears are apparently behind the decision according to West Dunbartonshire Council, the same council that commended him for being so cheery around the children by the same council two years ago, reports The Daily Record.

Parents have now taken matters into their own hands by creating a Facebook group called Save the High Fives.

Nkosana began working as a lollipop man in 2013, after moving to Scotland from South Africa in 2003. Here he is demonstrating his moves.
