Cinema mixes up ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and ‘SpongeBob’ films

A cinema in Colorado has accidentally shown the beginning of Fifty Shades of Grey to an audience awaiting The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, reports USA Today.

Apparently parents and children at the 11:45 a.m showing of the SpongeBob movie got to see the start of Fifty Shades before the cinema realised there was a mix up. This didn’t stop parents freaking out.

Said one cinema-goer, “Some were moving pretty fast to get the kids out of the theater. The family sitting behind me said what I was thinking: ‘Am I in the right theater?'”

Also this week, Mercury News reports that a drive-in cinema in California was showing both Fifty ShadesSpongeBob on screens next to each other, meaning that parents and kids watching the adventures of a nearly-nude sponge could look across the car park and get an eyeful of Christin Grey’s very own pineapple under the sea*
