Over a hundred people who regularly highlight things online that are fake will receive a special medal from the Queen, who will personally thank them for being such joyless pricks.

“The brave men and women selected for the 2014 fake honours list have tirelessly dedicated their lives to pointing out the many things on the internet that are obviously not real – and as such should be rewarded for their selfless work,” said a palace spokesman.

“Without these critical thinkers endlessly questioning authenticity and enjoying absolutely nothing, there might be a small amount of people in the world who may think some things they see online are genuine.”

“These medals are a symbolic thank you on behalf of that tiny percentage of gullible people.”
