McDonald’s Criticised For New ‘McMadiba’ Chicken Burger

Food News: Fast food giant McDonald’s have been accused of shamelessly cashing in on Nelson Mandela’s death, after adding a ‘McMadiba’ burger to their menu.

The limited edition burger, which McDonald’s describe as “succulent white and dark chicken meat coexisting in the same sandwich under the spirit of unity and reconciliation”, comes in a box covered in fabric that is “inspired by Mandela’s loudest shirts”.

The burger is sold under the slogan “the long walk to lunchtime just got shorter!” and also comes with a free vuvuzela “to help express your grief for the great man himself.” It’s also been reported some meals include toys left over from an old McDonald’s Lion King promotion in 1994.

“It was one thing to sit through the gushing, insincere tributes from politicians and celebrities keen to cash in on the public’s love for Mandela, but this burger is a step too far,” said a spokesman for the family.

“It has pickles on it. Anyone who knew and loved Madiba knew he hated pickles.”
