Last Wonder Stuff Fan Dies In Captivity

Music News: The last surviving fan of 90s indie band The Wonder Stuff has died, leaving researchers with questions about the band’s following and significance that will never be answered.

The fan was bought as part of a breeding pair which had to be kept separately because of a long-running fight over whether Vic Reeves collaboration Dizzy was a sell-out or a bold commercial move.

The death follows the announcement last year that fans of Ned’s Atomic Dustbin had become extinct, leaving crucial questions about why long shorts with slogans on were briefly popular forever unanswered.

Anthropologist Dr Ann Bolton said: “There used to be thousands of people who knew the difference between Jesus Jones and Pop Will Eat Itself, but natural selection over the course of two decades has reduced them to a mere handful, often living in hiding after years of abuse.

“People say they deserve it, and why should we care if the world forgets mediocre indie bands who scored minor chart hits in the last century?

“But to them I say, those who cannot remember the horror of Transvision Vamp are doomed to repeat it.”
