Style experts promise full-scale Teddy Boy revival next year

Fashion News: Style experts are confidently predicting a full-blown Teddy Boy revival in the spring of next year.

After hipsters, mods, skins, new wave and all the other revivals endlessly reviving in an orgy of mass-market revivalism, news that Damon Albarn is writing a Teddy Boy opera with ’70s ’50s revivalists Showaddywaddy has had the switchboards of trend forecasters up and down the country flashing ‘revival’.

‘Teddy Boy’s Picnic’ starring James Arthur from the X-Factor, with Mark Kermode performing a cameo as the villainous motorcycle mechanic ‘Vince’, is to premiere in London’s Barbican Theatre this April, ushering in a summer of Brothel Creepers, Edwardian clothing and razor blades.

“Even stabbing people will be different by the autumn of next year,” says fashion blog upit.org’s editor B’na.

“This year it was all about shanking in the ribs. Next year it will be more of a face-slash – followed by combing your hair and clicking your fingers.”

“If David Beckham doesn’t have a quiff by September I’m going to give all my cocaine away to a homeless person.”
