TV News: Prime Minister David Cameron was left speechless on daytime TV show This Morning, after being caught off-guard by an intelligent question.
âI didnât come here for this,â exclaimed a flushed Cameron. âI was expecting some cosy questions about dinner party tips or at the very most riding Rebekah Brooksâ horse.â
The question, which concerned the Governmentâs long term economic strategy, was asked by Phillip Schofield. Co-host Holly Willoughby then posed a series of tough follow up questions, ranging from the UKâs place in Europe to foreign policy in the middle east.
âI thought you were just going to ask me if Iâd started doing my Christmas shopping yet!â yelped a clearly flustered Cameron. âThen you were going to cut to an item with that Gino Ginelli man making shepherdâs pie. You promised!â
âThe Prime Minister was not expecting to be asked anything intelligent,â said a Downing Street spokesman. âHe had however prepared a list of contemporary music acts in case he was asked about what was on his iPod.â
