Jungle News: MP Nadine Dorries has arranged a ‘job swap’ during her appearance on I’m A Celebrity, leaving a treefrog in charge of her Mid-Bedfordshire constituency.
Dorries arranged for the Treefrog to be flown out at ‘personal expense’ from the Springbrook National Park in Queensland, in order to address any concerns that she will not be doing parliamentary or constituency business during her extended absence from Westminster while appearing on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.
Ms Dorries, who earns £65,000 a year for representing Mid-Bedfordshire, said the Orange-eyed Treefrog will fill in for her during an important EU budget vote and chancellor George Osborne’s mini-budget while she is away.
“The soft trilling and gentle, moaning ‘aaa-rk’ call of the Treefrog will provide a welcome change in the voice of UK politics,” said a spokesman for the Mid-Bedfordshire Conservative Association.
“And its fondness for mating in roadside ditches and ponds means it will fit right in with many MPs.”
