Cheerful calendar now making minicab office much less sinister

Decor News: A minicab office with the atmosphere of a ‘rape club’ has had its mood lightened by the addition of a cheerful calendar featuring cats.

The owners of the minicab office in Croydon, South London, thought the peeling paint, tobacco stained lampshade and general ‘rapey’ demeanour of staff could be improved by nailing a charming calendar to the wall in the waiting area.

“We looked at a lot of options to make the office less sinister,” said owner Teddy Ataki. “We thought about giving the office a lick of paint, or removing the chicken wire from the window and even trying to get the suspiciously blood-coloured stains off the carpet.”

“But in the end we decided to put up a calendar featuring cats in various playful poses. Everyone loves cats – we hope it helps take the edge off the feeling waiting customers get at 4am – that they’re about to be brutally assaulted by a gang of minicab drivers.”
