Osborne: ‘If workers stop demanding wages businesses would be better off’

Economy News: Chancellor George Osborne has called upon UK workers to stop putting ‘unnecessary demands’ on businesses by asking to be paid wages.

In a speech at the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham Osbourne outlined his plan to target the real problem – workers.

“If UK businesses are to beat the recession then it’s time to stop these greedy workers asking for money at the end of every month,” said Osborne.

“We need to put a stop to this ‘something for something’ culture amongst the UK’s workers. They should feel lucky to have a job at all – getting paid to do that job is just a luxury that companies can no longer afford.”

Osborne announced other new schemes for workers – including stopping paid holiday leave and forcing mothers to get back to work thirty seconds after giving birth.

“Workers of the world unite!” said Osborne. “Unite together and stop asking for money – there isn’t any – at least not for the likes of you.”
