Tech News: The head of a Human Resources department in Leicester has forwarded an email containing a humorous picture of a cat asleep on a keyboard to all 35 members of staff.

The picture of the napping cat, which was sent in an email with the subject line ‘Perfect Esc’, was sent to all staff at the double glazing business in Billesdon, Leicester, and was reportedly deleted by everyone within thirty seconds.

“It’s bad enough that they forward this kind of crap to everyone,” said Head of Finance Susan Cooper. “But they added some clip art of a smiley face. Please don’t presume to tell me what I should feel when I see a picture of a sleeping cat.”

Other staff expressed their anger at the email. “What makes it worse is that they just laid off three of my colleagues,” said senior glazier Brian Sprokestone. “Three good people out of work. Five minutes later the person who sacked them is emailing everyone some fucking cat picture.”

HR head Roger Domino was quick to defend the group email. “I thought it would help lighten the staff’s mood. That, and the fact the HR department has very little to do other than sack people and trawl the internet for funny pictures.”
