PROMOTION

The folks at Cadbury Dairy Milk Ice Cream need your help to bring back the lolly stick joke.

Next year they will introduce original, new lolly-stick jokes in their ice creams and are seeking the perfect new gag to kick-start the project.

They reckon Twitter has created a new generation of gagsmiths. They’d be right.

Comedy critic Bruce Dessau says: “There has never been a better time to revive the tradition of the lolly stick joke. Short form text mediums like Twitter have focused people on delivering bite size wit and shown us that a joke doesn’t have to be long to be good.”

After a public vote the winner will scoop a £5000 prize and their gag will be immortalised onto an 18 carat gold lolly stick for a lucky punter to win at their London pop-up ice cream shop on Covent Garden’s piazza between May 24- 26.

Jokes must be entered via Twitter – details HERE
