Derren Brown hypnotizes himself into a coma

Celebrity News: TV mentalist Derren Brown was found this morning in a self-induced hypnotic trance so profound he is being medically classed as comatose.

After the mind-bending star failed to show up at a charity event, a worried management team forced entry into Brown’s home and found him lying on the floor in front of a large hallway mirror.

“Derren often uses auto-suggestion as a way to deal with stress,” says friend Julius Hopper, “particularly before his television specials or dinners with people he doesn’t understand.”

“I think the stress of all the Christmas corporate events finally got to him – he tried to self-hypnotize, but this time Derren went that bit too far.”

Now medical staff and doctors alike are appealing to anyone who may know the trigger Brown uses to break himself out of his own trances.

“We’ve been clicking our fingers. We’ve been touching his shoulder – nothing,” Hopper continues. “We’ve tried every single word we can think of – now we’re doing shifts with a dictionary.”

Management have even drafted in other professionals but to no avail. Paul Mckenna said he was ‘flummoxed’. Dynamo described the situation as ‘like that movie Inception, but without the curly streets.’

“We can keep his body alive indefinitely,” says Doctor Alice Feld of Universtiy College Hospital, “but what that powerful mind is doing to itself down there, heaven only knows.”
