Olympics ‘regret’ Anusol sponsorship

Sports News: The 2012 Olympic Committee was left red faced last night after hemorrhoid treatment company Anusol unveiled it’s latest billboard campaign at London’s Saint Pancras station.

2012 Olympic Committee Regrets Sponsorship Deal With Anusol

The billboard, attached to the existing Olympic logo, involves a giant tube of Anusol ointment with a tannoy system inside it which repeats the phrase “Anusol and London 2012. Look after your Olympic rings”.

“I don’t know what their problem is,” said a spokesman from the parent company Pfizer.

“2012 is all about health and well being and so is Anusol. It’s a very subtle campaign – I admit I didn’t get it at first – but an advertising creative explained to me the symmetry between the Olympic rings and a bumhole. It’s not like we smeared ointment over the entrance to Canary Wharf tube station and hung giant arse-grapes from the ceiling, though let’s not rule that one out in the future.”

Organising committee chief Sebastian Coe defended the sponsorship deal.

“London 2012 has partnered with a huge variety of companies for the games, and sponsorship deals are evaluated on a regular basis. Plus, we wanted a few free crates of the stuff because some of the committee have hurty bottoms.”
